| | Description | The AeroPress is an entirely new way to make coffee, American style or Espresso style for use in lattes, cappucinos and other espresso based drinks. AeroPress brews simply delicious coffee, 1-4 cups per pressing. Ideal water temperature and faster brewing yields rich flavor with lower acidity and without bitterness. Other brewing processes use near boiling water and long exposure to coffee grounds. Quickly brew a variety of coffee drinks including an Americano or an espresso-style shot for use in lattes or cappuccinos. Its total-immersion system permits extraction at a moderate temperature and a short brew time. Water and grounds are mixed together for 10 seconds, then gentle air pressure pushes the mix through a micro-filter in just 20 seconds, which avoids the bitterness of long processes such as drip brewing. The air pressure also gently squeezes the last goodness from the grounds, further enriching the flavor. The total brewing time of only 30 seconds results in an exceptionally smooth brew. | |

Fantastic, easy to use coffee maker. Sep 03, 2010 Easy to use and makes fantastic coffee! I am not a coffee aficionado, but I do enjoy a good, strong cup of coffee... black. The coffee that the AeroPress makes is definitely superior to anything else I've made myself. Even with crappy, old, stale beans, it can make a passable cup of coffee. My wife is much pickier about her coffee (doesn't like any bitter flavour), and she agrees that this is a great little coffee maker.

A little overrated product but great potential Aug 30, 2010 I read the reviews on this product, and I was jazzed up about trying it. I have used a French press for years, and the criticisms of it were very valid. First the good observations: the unit is easy to clean, works as advertised, and appears to be quite sturdy (considering it is plastic with one rubber piece). The directions are simple, and they are easy to follow. I meticulously made sure I had water temp at 175 degrees, measured coffee (I grind my own, so I made sure it was very fine as directed), and put it into plastic container, stirred it for the 10 seconds as indicated, and then did the slow press (dampening the rubber end before inserting). I pushed it slowly for the 25 plus seconds; it does require some arm/hand coordination and strength, but most people shouldn't have a problem. Now, the results were good, but not super as others indicated. The process does use more coffee than the French press, but you have no residue at bottom of your completed cup when you are done. It is also very easy to clean up, and the little filter papers are cheap and easy to put in. The bottom line is it does make a good cup of coffee, but it requires some adjusting to make a cup that you will be happy with as you have to add extra water or hot frothy milk to suit your taste; this is not as easy as it sounds (but I keep trying). All in all, I am happy with the product, and I doubt I will go back to the French press. (And for those of you who think this product is perfection, I do use a high quality coffee and a good burr grinder,so don't say it was the quality of the ingredients used).
Great coffee maker Aug 29, 2010 This coffee maker is everything it's advertised to be. Easy to use and makes great coffee, with opportunity to experiment. It's an excellent value.
great for traveling Aug 22, 2010 It's great to be able to make a decent expresso without a huge machine. It does require some muscle to push the plunger down though. With my little millk frother, I can make decent cappuccinos too!

Whoops Aug 20, 2010 Noted it was available for less money (also Amazon) but had already ordered. Item is what I ordered, just could have had same item for less money and in this economy I wish I would have checked Amazon more carefully before ordering.
